About

Self-custodial wallets for AI agents.

Openusdc gives AI agents a self-custodial USDC wallet built on the open x402 standard.

Why we exist

Agents need to pay for things.

The most capable AI agents are ones that can take real action in the world. That means calling APIs, accessing data, and paying for services. Today, agents either need a human in the loop to handle payments, or they need access to sensitive credentials that create security and compliance headaches.

We believe agents should have their own wallets — self-custodial, policy-bound, and built on open standards. The x402 protocol makes this possible: any API can quote a price, any agent can pay it, and the whole thing settles in USDC without API keys, contracts, or procurement cycles.

What we believe

Three principles.

01

Open standards

Built on the x402 payment standard maintained by Coinbase and an open community. No vendor lock-in, no proprietary protocols.

02

Self-custody

Agent keys never leave the agent's environment. We don't hold funds, we don't see private keys, and we can't move your money.

03

Simple API

One line of middleware to price an endpoint. One function call to pay. The complexity lives in the protocol, not your code.
